nVent SCHROFF has graduated from L3 Harris’ Zero Defect Program
The Zero Defect Program is a list of quality requirements to assess and aid in improving supplier quality performance by building a system that promotes zero defects to the customer. Each of the requirements highlights the importance of:
- Maintaining a robust Quality Management System
- Implementing advanced product quality planning (APQP)
- Employee engagement from the operator to management level on all aspects of quality
nVent SCHROFF began in 2017 by identifying opportunities for improvement and defining a plan for continuous improvement.
With a mind towards transparency, we have made the PFMEA (process failure mode effects analysis) a live document that is updated as needed when an ECO (Engineering Change Order) is completed. This framework of checks and balances enables us to prevent quality issues when any new process is added or a design is changed.
We also implemented Intelex – a cutting edge quality management software – to track issues across a multitude of value streams to improve our containment of issues when they impact more than one product line. We also added APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) processes where applicable.
As a result of these efforts, we are now 98% compliant with L3 Harris ZDP requirements. Not only did we make measurable and make meaningful improvements towards having zero defects, but we are also proud to share we now have a nearly perfect Quality Score, 99.8%.
At nVent SCHROFF our customer satisfaction and continuous improvement are paramount. Whether it is a customer-specific ZDP program or industry standard, such as AS9100, our goal is to exceed expectations and be a supplier you can trust.
